Excellent Inn in the City

Stayed at the Inn on Negley while in Pittsburgh. Located in Shadyside, it is run by highly professional staff. Very clean, beautifully appointed and top-notch (even powerful shower -- woo hoo!) Off-street parking, too -- rare in the city. Breakfast was great, tailored to what I can and can't eat, and even better, available at 7. When travelling on business, I can rarely stay in B & Bs because they assume everyone is vacationing and sleeping in. This place accommodates both, and extremely well. Cookies in the afternoon and wine early evening. Would highly recommend, and I'm already trying to figure out when I can come back

Will be Back

Had to travel during Covid but felt completely comfortable here. They were very respectful of wearing a mask and cleaning everything that was touched. They even gave us a "wellness" gift with gloves, disinfectant, mask, etc. We so enjoyed their deck outback with their beautiful gardens. We used the space to play games and brought our dinner back at night. Their evening wine went perfect with our dinner. We are wine snobs and we loved the wine they offered. Beds were supper comfy and rooms with everything one could need. I do believe though our breakfast was the best of all!! We worked at scheduling our trip back around staying one more time at the Inn.

This Place is Amazing!

This place is amazing! We just happened to pass by since we live in the area and decided to book a one night "staycation" over the weekend. The inn offers special packages, so we booked an "Inn"timite night for two.

First, the atmosphere. This place is so cozy. They have a porch outside with rocking chairs, and a tidy, warm dining room and sitting area for afternoon tea. They also have an outside patio with more rocking chairs and tables/seats. Our room itself (the Northern Spy suite) was very large, with a sitting area and a separate bedroom + bathroom. Everything was very clean and tastefully furnished. We received a package with various sanitary supplies given the current pandemic (face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves) upon arrival and everyone in the inn took the upmost precautions (everyone wore face masks, reminders everywhere about social distancing, tables set 6 feet apart, etc.). As a medical student, I was happy to see such detail taken to protect customers and employees.

Second, the service was amazing. When I booked the inn over the phone, a very nice man named Nick helped me with the reservation. He made sure to get someone to call me back when he didn't know an answer to a question, and he was very patient when I had questions about the packages/which room to pick/etc. When we arrived, a very nice woman greeted us and showed us around and up to our rooms. She later arrived right on time to deliver wine and cheese as well as dessert later in the evening when we had scheduled them. The next day during our afternoon tea, another woman ushered us into the tea area and our waiter was very attentive.

As for everything else--it was impeccable. They gave us a whole bottle of red wine as part of our package deal, and the cheese and charcuterie plate were delicious. The hot chocolate and cookies as well as the chocolate lava cake (so rich!) were also amazing. The afternoon tea service, which may other people have written about here, was an experience in itself. I honestly just want to replay our whole stay again because it was so great.

I highly recommend booking a stay here for a "staycation" or just going for afternoon tea. 5+ stars for sure!

A Gem in Pittsburgh

I needed to live outside of my home for a few weeks but at the same time remain in very close proximity to it. The Inn on Negley met the criteria and kindly provided me with accommodations that were absolutely superb. The Inn is exquisitely maintained and the staff is a reflection of the owner. Everyone involved with the Inn on Negley is genuinely kind, courteous and hard working. The Inn on Negley is truly a gem in Pittsburgh and is listed in the Select Registry of Inns.

Romantic getaway to Pittsburgh!

We stayed at The Inn on Negley from Tuesday-Friday and we had a lovely time. The staff was wonderful to work with and catered to us as though we were their only guests at the Inn. Shout out to Becca, Christopher, Nick, Albert for great service and going out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed in the Braeburn Room on the first floor next to the office. Large room and bathroom. I'm 4'11" and had a hard time getting into the incredibly tall four-poster bed - thank God for the little carpeted steps they provided! I guess the Braeburn was the ADA-complient suite, with grab bars in the shower and by the toilet. We also loved the breakfasts that we had - really delicious! And the Inn is within walking distance of a number of excellent restaurants, which we liked. Also liked the key fob on our room key for the outside door - and the parking in the back! The Inn is on a rather busy street, so it was kind of noisy - but we enjoyed our stay in this late 19th-century home!

Great catering by Inn on Negley!

My wife and I had a housewarming party catered by a great crew from Inn on Negley, including Nick, Greg, and Josh. Nick is an A+ chef and he curated a seasonal menu of delicious and creative hors d'oeuvres that everyone loved. Greg was our bartender and he prepared anything and everything, including an unbelievable white sangria that was in hot demand all night. Josh too couldn't have been better, he really helped with the flow of the evening. He helped set up, greeted guests, passed food, cleaned up food and drink; he just did it all. It was so nice to throw a great party and not have a giant mess at the end of it! Josh, Greg, and Nick left the kitchen (and much of the house) in the same condition as before the party started. The guys were all so pleasant, professional and highly skilled at what they do. This is our crew now and in the future!
